Why We’re Sharing This

SEO agencies love showing client results. But there’s always a question: “Did they just get lucky with that client? Was the market easy? Did they have a head start?”

Our own site removes those variables. We started from absolute zero — a new domain in a competitive market (SEO services for UK small businesses), going up against agencies with years of domain authority and thousands of backlinks.

If our approach works for us, it works for our clients.

Who We Are

We’re Simon and Lisa — a husband and wife team who’ve been building businesses together for over 25 years.

  • 3 previous businesses built and exited — we’ve done this before
  • Previous tech business ranked #1 globally for 3 competitive keywords — we know what works
  • Technical + content expertise combined — Simon handles the tech and systems, Lisa handles content and client communication
  • Based in Spain, serving UK clients — lower overheads mean lower prices without compromising quality

The Starting Point

We launched getyourwebsiteseen.co.uk as a brand new domain. No purchased authority, no redirects from old sites, no shortcuts. Google first started picking us up in August 2025 — and what you’re about to see is what happened next.

Monthly Growth

This is what compounding SEO growth looks like in real numbers. Every figure is taken directly from Google Search Console:

November
27.6K
890/day
7 clicks
December
77.9K
2,513/day
17 clicks
January
152.8K
4,929/day
45 clicks
February
239.1K
8,538/day
103 clicks
March
218.2K
7,039/day
165 clicks
April*
74.4K
6,763/day
52 clicks

*April figure to 13th — month in progress, projected ~203K for the full month.

March was our best click month yet — 165 organic clicks from UK visitors. Impressions have stabilised in the 200K+ range following a February peak of 239K. This is normal compounding behaviour: initial exponential growth gives way to a strong, consistent baseline. The trajectory of clicks — which is what actually matters for business — continues to improve month-on-month.

What We Did

No magic. No tricks. Just the same approach we use for clients — applied consistently to our own site.

1. Built Strong Foundations First

Before writing a single blog post, we got the fundamentals right. Technical SEO isn’t glamorous, but it’s essential.

  • Clean site architecture with logical URL hierarchy
  • Proper schema markup (LocalBusiness, Service, FAQPage)
  • Fast hosting with 90+ PageSpeed scores
  • Mobile-first design throughout
  • XML sitemap and robots.txt configured correctly
  • Google Search Console and Analytics from day one

2. Targeted Content Strategy

We didn’t just write about “SEO” — we went after specific, intent-driven keywords that UK small businesses actually search for.

Every page was built around a clear search intent. Every blog post answered a genuine question. Our copywriting approach focuses on being genuinely useful, not just keyword-stuffed.

Content Type Pages Created Purpose
Service Pages 15+ Target commercial intent keywords
Industry Pages 10 Capture sector-specific searches
Blog Posts 30+ Answer questions, build authority
Free Tools 5 Attract links, demonstrate expertise

3. Built Useful Free Tools

Instead of begging for backlinks, we created things worth linking to.

These tools now account for a significant portion of our organic traffic — and they attract natural backlinks because they’re genuinely useful.

4. Consistent Publishing Schedule

SEO rewards consistency. We published 2–3 pieces of content per week for the first several months, building topical authority across our core subjects and giving Google more to index with every passing week.

The Results: Month by Month

August 2025
Site launched and indexed. Around 250 impressions per day — Google is learning we exist. First keywords beginning to appear in Search Console.
September – October 2025
Steady growth to ~340 impressions per day. Content is being indexed, average positions gradually improving. Foundations holding firm.
November 2025
890 impressions per day on average. First page 2 rankings appearing consistently. Free tools starting to attract visits.
December 2025
2,513 impressions per day. First page 1 rankings land. Domain authority building as backlinks accumulate naturally. 17 clicks in the month.
January 2026
4,929 impressions per day. 45 clicks. Ranking for hundreds of keywords. The compounding effect is now clearly visible in Search Console.
February 2026
Peak month: 8,538 impressions per day — 239,000 for the month. 103 clicks. Position 1 for “affordable local seo services”. Multiple page 1 rankings for competitive UK SEO terms. 9,904 impressions on our single best day.
March 2026
Best click month to date: 165 UK organic clicks. Impressions stabilise at 218K — a healthy, consistent level after the February peak. This is normal compounding behaviour: growth becomes more consistent, and the focus shifts from impressions to converting that visibility into enquiries.
April 2026 (in progress)
52 clicks and 74K impressions in the first 13 days. Tracking for another 200K+ impression month. 12 keywords now confirmed on page 1 from independent SERP checks.

Current Rankings

All positions verified by independent SERP checks run incognito from a UK location — not just GSC averages, which smooth out over time:

Keyword Position Page
affordable local seo services 1 Page 1
affordable seo for small business 3 Page 1
cheap seo 3 Page 1
best cheap seo uk 4 Page 1
free seo audit uk 4 Page 1
website audit free uk 4 Page 1
affordable seo 5 Page 1
small business seo services 5 Page 1
blog writing services 6 Page 1
small business seo uk 6 Page 1
seo for small business uk 6 Page 1
website refresh uk 7 Page 1
local seo services uk 15 Page 2

These aren’t vanity keywords — they’re commercial terms that UK businesses actually search when looking for SEO help. We’re competing against agencies with years of domain authority and thousands of backlinks, and we’re outranking most of them.

Being Honest About Where We Are

Full transparency: Our visibility has grown far faster than we expected — 816,000+ total impressions in 8 months on a brand new domain, with 12 page 1 rankings. Clicks have grown consistently month-on-month: 7 in November → 165 in March.

We’re also honest about the fluctuations. February was our peak impression month at 239K. March dipped slightly to 218K, and April is tracking for around 203K. This is completely normal — SEO doesn’t grow in a perfectly straight line. What matters is that clicks (real enquiries, real people) are continuing to grow even as impressions level out. Authority compounds over time.

One term — “local seo services uk” — has slipped from page 1 to page 2. We’re actively working to recover that position. We share this because it’s real: SEO involves ongoing management, not a set-and-forget approach. We apply the same scrutiny to our own rankings that we apply to our clients’.

What This Proves

You don’t need:

  • A massive budget
  • An established domain
  • Hundreds of backlinks to start
  • Paid advertising

You do need:

  • A clear content strategy targeting real search intent
  • Solid technical foundations
  • Consistency over months, not days
  • Patience to let the compound effect work

Frequently Asked Questions

Why share your own numbers?

Because we believe in transparency. Anyone can claim expertise — showing our own results, warts and all, proves we practise what we preach. If our methods work for us in a competitive market, they’ll work for our clients too.

How do you verify these rankings?

We use independent SERP checking tools run incognito from a UK location, alongside Google Search Console data. GSC gives averages over time — our SERP checks show live positions on the day of checking. Both tell a consistent story.

What tools did you use?

Google Search Console (free), Google Analytics (free), Keysearch (paid), SerpsAPI (paid), and custom Python tools we built ourselves for auditing and outreach. The paid tools help with research and tracking, but they’re not essential — we’ve ranked sites without them.

Can you get these results for my business?

Every market is different, but the principles are the same. Local service businesses often see faster results than we’re seeing because the competition is less intense. Get a free audit and we’ll give you an honest assessment of your specific situation.

Want Us to Apply This to Your Business?

Same strategy. Same consistency. Same results-focused approach — but for your market, your keywords, your customers.
