Most SEO advice is written for companies unlike yours
Enterprise SEO assumes content teams, dev sprints, six-figure link budgets and a marketing director who cares about share of voice. Small business SEO is a different job and needs a different approach.
- You are not competing on volumeYou do not need to rank for 10,000 keywords. You need the 20 to 50 searches your customers use when they are ready to buy. A much smaller and much more winnable target — if you know which ones matter.
- Your competitors are not who Google thinks they areThe results page may be full of national directories, but your real competition is the three or four other local firms your customers are choosing between. Local signals and a properly built Google Business Profile matter more than out-publishing a software company.
- Every pound has to earn its keepYou do not have a testing budget. Work that does not move within a few months is not a long-term investment, it is a bill. The priority is what shifts rankings and enquiries, not what looks impressive in a report.
- You need to be able to check the workLarge companies have specialists to interpret SEO reports. You do not. If an agency cannot explain what they did in plain English, you are paying for confusion.
It is also worth knowing how low the bar is. Across 3,920 UK small business websites we have audited, half had no privacy policy, 44.6% had no schema markup and 29.4% had no H1 tag. Getting the basics right puts you ahead of a great many competitors before anybody writes a word.

Packages from £199 a month
Three tiers, from £199 to £800 a month, with every price published rather than quoted. Which one fits depends on how competitive your market is and how much work the site needs.
No contracts, no lock-in, no hidden extras. Clients stay because the work delivers, not because they are tied in. Every engagement starts with a free audit, so you know what we would do and what it would cost before committing to anything.
And who it does not
We work with UK small businesses across sectors — trades, professional services, retail, ecommerce, tuition, regulated finance. What matters is not your industry but whether people are searching for what you do.
- This works well ifCustomers find you through search or could, you can service more work than you currently get, and you can wait three to six months for it to build.
- This works badly ifYou need enquiries this month — buy advertising instead. Nobody searches for what you do. Or your service pages do not convert the traffic you already have, in which case fix that first.
Not sure which describes you? Ask us — we will be honest about whether we are the right fit, including when we are not.
Frequently asked
- How much does small business SEO cost?Packages run from £199 to £800 a month, published on the pricing page. That is genuine ongoing work — not a £49 automated report and a pile of directory links.
- How long before it shows results? Most see traction within six to twelve weeks after the initial technical and content work, and three to six months before it shows in enquiries. Local moves faster. Competitive sectors take longer.
- Do I need a big website? No. Some of our best results are five-page sites and one-person businesses. What matters is that the pages you have are focused and fixable. Small can be an advantage — fewer pages means less confusion for Google.
- Are there contracts? No. Everything is month to month. You stay if the work delivers. If it does not, you leave — no cancellation fee, no notice period.
- Is there VAT on top?We invoice from Spain, so there is no UK VAT on our invoices. If you are not VAT-registered that is a genuine 20% saving. If you are registered you would have reclaimed it anyway, so it makes no difference to you.
- Can you work with businesses outside your area?Yes. Cornwall to Newcastle, Cardiff to Norwich. The work happens in Google, in your Business Profile and in your website copy. None of it requires us to be in your town.
- What does the free audit include?A genuine review — technical issues, keyword opportunities, content gaps, competitor context — and a clear breakdown of what we would prioritise and why. No obligation, and if we do not think we can help we will tell you.
